How to Make Your First Crosschain Swap on Velora

From USDC on Ethereum to ETH on Base in one easy transaction

Crosschain trading used to be complicated. Velora changes that.

Moving assets across chains has always been one of DeFi’s most frustrating pain points. Juggling bridges, wallets, gas tokens, approvals, and multiple interfaces slows down execution and introduces unnecessary risk. For DeFi power users, this isn’t just added friction, it’s an opportunity cost.

Velora eliminates that complexity. With intent-based routing and a unified execution layer, it turns fragmented workflows into a single transaction. No bridges. No gas token management. No switching chains.

In this guide, we’ll walk through a simple but practical use case: swapping USDC on Ethereum for ETH on Base.

What you need

To complete this swap, you’ll need:

And that's it! No need to hold gas on the destination chain. Velora handles everything.

Step-by-Step: USDC (mainnet) → ETH (Base)

1. Open Velora and Connect Your Wallet

Go to app.velora.xyz. Click “Connect Wallet” and follow your usual connection flow (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Ledger, etc.).

2. Select your trade

On the main app interface:

  • Select to Pay on Ethereum as the origin chain

  • Select USDC and enter the amount of you’d like to trade

  • Select to Receive on Base as the destination chain

  • Choose ETH as the receiving token.

Hit Swap button

Velora will calculate the optimal route–factoring in bridging assets, slippage, latency, and protecting against MEV risk–then return a single, executable quote.

You'll find that Delta transactions are gassless, meaning you don't need native tokens to pay for network costs, but you pay them with the tokens that you will receive.

What you see is what you get. The routing, bridging, and gas is all abstracted. You’re expressing an intent; Velora handles the rest.

3. Review and confirm

Review the transaction. At this stage, you’ll see:

  • What you are sending and how much you’ll receive

  • Best Rate found by Agents for ETH/USD

  • Network Fees (gasless!)

  • Swap Fees

  • Amount of ETH you get on Base after network costs

Click Confirm Trade. Sign the transaction in your wallet.Review the transaction. You’ll see:

4. Wait for settlement

Velora will begin executing your transaction. Behind the scenes, this includes:

  • Swapping USDC on Ethereum (you may need to Approve Spending USDC in wallet)

  • Depositing on the source chain

  • Filling the order on the destination chain

  • Delivering ETH to your Base wallet

Once the transaction is submitted, you can also track the progress on the Velora Protocol Explorer by selecting the View Order Details button. This crosschain swap was completed in under 2 minutes. You can track status in real-time:

Order 1: Deposit 100,000 USDC on Ethereum is Confirmed. This transaction swapped 100,000 USDC for 52,35 WETH

Order 2: Fill 52,35 ETH on Base is Confirmed. This transaction transferred 52,35 WETH to Across Protocol, which then deposited 52,35 ETH on Base.

5. You’re done. You now hold ETH on Base.

The funds will appear in your Base wallet automatically. No need to import custom tokens or monitor bridge addresses.

What!?! That was amazing!

You just executed a crosschain swap in a single intent.

Under the hood, Velora:

  • Abstracted away chain bridging

  • Agents sourced best execution across DEXs

  • Handled gas fees across chains

  • Protected against MEV exposure

  • Delivered a unified user experience

This is more than a UX upgrade. It’s a shift in how DeFi is built and used.

Why this matters

Velora is no longer a DEX aggregator. It’s a full-stack trading protocol. One that:

  • Treats intents, not complex actions, as the core unit of trading

  • Enables chain abstraction by default

  • Replaces multi-step workflows with a single transaction

  • Scales from simple swaps to complex strategies and programmable Super Hooks

With Velora, crosschain trading is the new default.

What’s next

This crosschain swap was just the start of what’s possible with Velora’s new intent-based trading protocol.
